NSW Health has fifteen Local Health Districts and three Specialty Networks covering New South Wales. Each Local Health District and Specialty Network has been established with a governing board. Governing boards are an important part of the overall management of the public health system in NSW.
WA Country Health
The WA Country Health Service has a strong network of public hospitals, health services and nursing posts located across rural and remote Western Australia. Their core business is the provision of quality, accessible health services to people from large regional centres to those in small remote communities in WA. Overall the WA Country Health Service manages 70 hospitals (including 30 multi-purpose services), 38 nursing posts as well as community health and mental health services.
